Collected water and sediment samples from different sites of an estuarian complex. Analyzed the distribution, composition, occurrence and characterization of microplastics. Utilized stereo-zoom microscope for quantifying and categorizing microplastics. Risk assessment indices were calculated to determine the extent of pollution. Polymer composition was identified using FTIR-ATR analysis, the obtained spectra were matched against other spectra using Open Specy and all the findings were visualized using MS Excel. Investigated the sources and factors controlling the distribution and transportation of microplastics in the study area.
