Replaced a manual, agent-driven refund process with a fully automated pipeline: cancellation requests trigger PNR cancellation via the air cancellation service and enqueue a status-tracked PNR; an hourly Kafka/API-based scheduler polls the supplier for refund confirmation and auto-triggers the refund once received, cutting P99 turnaround from ~72 hours to same-day (~4 hours) and meaningfully improving the refund experience for customers in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Implemented WhatsApp OTP authentication end-to-end: server-side AES-256 token generation, TTL-based expiry, stateless verification via Redis; replaced SMS gateway dependency and cut OTP delivery cost by 50%, improving the sign-in experience for customers in the Saudi Arabia and Egypt markets. Built an idempotent, event-driven notification platform on Kafka (10,000+ daily events across WhatsApp channels) with retry/backoff and DLQ handling, powering downstream confirmation, reminder, and refund-status messaging with 99.5%+ delivery reliability for customers across Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Architected the post-booking confirmation flow for air and hotel verticals across two subdomain brands atop this platform: Freemarker (.ftl) templating, idempotent SQS + worker Lambda delivery with dedup keys and exponential backoff, Mailgun webhook delivery tracking with full audit trail, and Saga choreography triggering a follow-up WhatsApp confirmation — improving the booking-confirmation experience for the Saudi Arabia and Egypt user base. Migrated Redis Memstore to Redis Sentinel with an L1 in-process + L2 distributed cache hierarchy and TTL tuning; right-sized GCP Cloud Run instances based on load profiling, reducing cloud spend by 25% while sustaining service reliability for the Saudi Arabia and Egypt markets. Built a T-24hr trip-reminder system using Spring Scheduler and Redis TTL-based triggers to push trip details ahead of departure to customers in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, eliminating cron-based polling.
