Engineered the backend for a multi-role interview assessment platform supporting secure coding assessments, recruiter workflows, assessment scheduling, and candidate evaluation across Student, Professor, Recruiter, and Admin portals. Designed modular backend services and reusable business workflows that simplified feature development, reduced code duplication, and improved long-term maintainability across the assessment platform. Designed the platform’s authentication and authorization layer using JWT, refresh token rotation, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to secure role-specific operations throughout the assessment lifecycle. Delivered assessment lifecycle capabilities including coding test scheduling, secure candidate access, real-time submission tracking, automated evaluation workflows, and live code execution updates using Socket.io. Designed MongoDB data models and optimized aggregation pipelines, indexing strategies, and query execution to improve assessment retrieval, reporting, and recruiter-facing operations. Improved application reliability through comprehensive unit and integration testing using Jest and Supertest, production debugging, API validation, and standardized error handling.
