Worked for the Boeing company as an on-site contractor part of their cloud infrastructure team responsible for configuring and supporting Google Cloud based infrastructure services such as GKE, GCE, and IAM. Worked with GCP users to create highly secure and scalable infrastructure utilizing services such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Compute Engine, and Identity and Access Management, Assisted customers to achieve visibility into their infrastructure through building monitoring dashboards and metrics in cloud logging and monitoring. Also building alerting policies that would trigger based on specific logic which should help the platform administrators having security measurements around their infrastructures. Troubleshoot issues related to security products such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), Role Based Access Controls (RBCA), and VPC Service Controls in GCP to prevent and protect the resources from compromising following the principle of Least Privilege. Performed periodic operating system patches across a set of Compute Engine VM instances to make sure they are up to date and to protect them against defects and vulnerabilities.

Google Cloud Infrastructure SME

infosys Ltd.

1-2021 - Present

This is a key role I am currently playing while working for Google as a Subject Matter Expert managing a team of 15 engineers. During this period, I was subject to an extensive training across several services offered by GCP. This role expands to include both technical and operational responsibilities. My goal is ensuring the proper service delivering and optimization of cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), as well as providing expert guidance on best practices for infrastructure design and management. Below are some of the key daily responsibilities: Design and implement infrastructure solutions that are secure, scalable, and cost-effective, including virtual machines (VMs), networking, storage, and containerization (e.g., Google Kubernetes Engine). Participate in creating debugging trees that are meant to shorten the troubleshooting time for the cx issues and help in meeting the SLOs. Provide support for Google Compute Engine API and troubleshoot issues related to quota and resources availability. Troubleshooting issues related to IAM roles and permissions and other security services such as VPC Service Controls, IAP, Security Command Center, Key Management Service, Organization Policies, etc… Working with customers in building monitoring dashboards and alerting policies utilizing GCP logging and monitoring API that would help gain better visibility into the running infrastructure and provide insight into what needs and immediate attention. Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, to automate the provisioning and configuration of GCP resources. Review usage of GCP services and recommend optimizations to control and reduce costs, leveraging tools like Google Cloud Cost Management, Budgets, and Billing Reports. Working closely with clients’ teams to understand their infrastructure needs, provide technical guidance, and collaborate on cloud architecture and deployments. Serve as a subject matter expert by advising internal teams or clients on best practices for GCP infrastructure. This could include running training sessions or offering consultations. Distribute work across the team based on skills and project priorities, ensuring that everyone is working on tasks that align with their strengths and development goals. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members. Help engineers set career development goals and provide support to meet those goals.
