Implemented JWT-based authentication in a dedicated Auth Service handling user registration, login, token generation and validation using Spring Security and BCrypt password encryption. Engineered asynchronous event-driven order processing using Apache Kafka where Order Service publishes OrderCreatedEvents consumed by Payment and Inventory Services, ensuring loose coupling and reliable eventual consistency. Integrated OpenFeign for synchronous inter-service communication (Order to Inventory stock validation) and Redis caching for the Product Service, reducing database load significantly. Containerized all services using Docker with each microservice owning its own isolated MySQL database, following the Database-per-Service pattern to enforce loose coupling.
