Gathered requirements for the recurring reporting on METAIA, a platform used by four business roles, by asking what decision each report needed to support before writing a line of SQL. Built the aggregation logic behind order volume, delivery performance, and workflow bottleneck metrics. Ran validation on every report before it went out: row counts against source, duplicate checks, date-range boundaries, join fan-out, whether totals reconciled. Caught a duplicate-write bug this way that had been inflating completed-order counts for two weeks before anyone noticed. Traced a reporting inconsistency that had been written off as a display bug back to a race condition creating duplicate records plus a missing index. Fixed both, added regression tests, and documented the failure mode so the team would recognise it next time. Wrote Python cleaning and validation scripts pulling operational data from several client systems with inconsistent formats, with checks at ingestion so malformed records failed loudly instead of quietly skewing a report downstream. Documented data sources, metric definitions, and known limitations for every report, kept an open-questions list for stakeholders instead of guessing, and presented weekly metrics to leadership in plain language.
