Architected a multi-user file storage platform (Google Drive–inspired) with a relational schema of 3 SQLAlchemy models (Users, Folders, Files) linked via foreign-key relationships. Implemented secure authentication using Werkzeug PBKDF2 password hashing and OTP-based email verification (Flask-Mail) for signup, with a terminal-output fallback for credential-free local development. Designed 15 RESTful-style route endpoints (upload, download, delete, share, folder management) using resource-based URLs and appropriate HTTP methods (GET/POST). Enabled secure public file sharing via UUID-based, non-guessable share tokens, decoupled from internal database record IDs. Enforced upload validation with a file-extension allowlist and externalized all secrets (database URI, mail credentials, app secret key) using python-dotenv, removing hardcoded credentials from source control. Built a responsive front-end in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for file upload, folder navigation, and cross-device retrieval.
