Gather requirements directly from business stakeholders through discovery sessions, translating functional needs into scalable, well-structured Power BI dashboard solutions. Design dimensional data models using fact and dimension tables, carefully establishing relationships and appropriate cardinality to support accurate, high-performance analytical queries. Develop DAX measures and calculated columns using functions such as CALCULATE, FILTER, SUMX, and RANKX, enabling advanced calculations and time-based analysis across datasets. Use Power Query to extract, cleanse, and transform data from multiple structured and unstructured sources, applying consistent naming conventions prior to loading into Power BI data models. Develop SQL queries incorporating joins, subqueries, and CTEs to retrieve, filter, and validate source data ahead of integration into Power BI. Reconcile Power BI datasets against source systems on a regular basis, cross-checking totals and record counts to confirm accuracy and consistency. Publish semantic models and dashboards to Power BI Service, organizing content across dedicated workspaces and configuring appropriate access levels for stakeholder visibility. Configure scheduled refresh and gateway connectivity to keep published datasets current, monitoring refresh history to catch and resolve failures proactively. Implement Row-Level Security roles based on user access requirements, testing each role thoroughly to ensure appropriate, restricted data visibility. Build interactive dashboards incorporating drill-down, drill-through, slicers, filters, bookmarks, and tooltips, giving end users flexible, self-service ways to explore data. Optimize DAX calculations, data models, SQL queries, and Power Query transformations using Performance Analyzer, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to improve responsiveness. Support UAT and production deployments, working closely with business users to validate outputs and troubleshooting refresh and connectivity issues as they arise. Maintain technical documentation for data models, DAX logic, and refresh configurations to support long-term maintainability and knowledge transfer. Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to align Power BI solutions with broader data architecture and governance standards.
