Bizoforce is hiring a highly specialized OpenDaylight (ODL) SDN Engineer for feature development, enhancement, and bug fixing within SDN controller environments. This is a niche engineering role focused on ODL framework development (not deployment), requiring deep expertise in SDN architecture, Java/Karaf-based development, and network programmability using YANG and RESTCONF/NETCONF. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in debugging controller-level issues and contributing to large-scale SDN ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

ODL Development & Enhancement

• Develop and enhance features within OpenDaylight (ODL) framework
• Build modular applications using Java and Apache Karaf
• Contribute to architecture design and technical improvements

SDN & Network Programmability

• Design and implement YANG models
• Work with RESTCONF / NETCONF protocols
• Enable programmable network automation using SDN controllers

Build & Patch Management

• Manage ODL builds and version control
• Perform cherry-picking and upstream patch integration
• Maintain version compatibility across environments

Debugging & Troubleshooting

• Debug SDN controller issues using logs and diagnostics
• Analyze runtime issues and performance bottlenecks
• Handle complex controller-level troubleshooting

Open Source & Collaboration

• Participate in ODL/open-source discussions
• Perform code reviews and contribute improvements
• Align with evolving SDN architecture and standards
