Hiring for a Solutions Architect for a leading producer of plastics and chemicals in Alberta, Canada

Job Description

Proven experience in designing and implementing applications that leverage maintenance, production, and process data.

Understanding of Industry standards (ISA 95 and Industry 4.0) and maintenance strategies of any Manufacturing or Industry sector.

Application engineering having knowledge in Design, Development, Integration, Testing, Security, Access and others.

Strong understanding of IT and OT systems including SCADA, PLCs, and Historians.

Experience with data lake platforms and big data technologies.

Proficiency in architectural frameworks, SDLC methodologies.

Knowledge of data integration tools and techniques, including ETL processes.

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services.

Experience with IoT technologies and protocols.

Experience with AI/ML applications in maintenance management.

Familiar in Network Topology / Database Server / Hosting components / Industrial communication protocols etc

Good communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders

Ability to lead and mentor development and testing teams.

Responsibility

Drive workshops for requirement gathering, platform / application evaluation and product fitment assessment, understanding client business functions and operations, coordination with remote project teams, client management and technical document writing.

Develop the overall architectural framework (high- and low-level design), data integration for the smart maintenance management application, ensuring integration between IT and OT systems.

Design and implement strategies for integrating maintenance data, production data, and process data into the application, leveraging the data lake platform.

Provide technical guidance and leadership to development and testing teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to ensure the application meets business requirements and technical specifications.

Develop prototypes and proof of concepts to validate architectural approaches and integrations. - Create detailed architectural documentation, including data flow diagrams, system interface specifications, and deployment plans.

Oversee the testing process to ensure the application meets quality standards and performs reliably in real-world conditions.

Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in IT and OT, recommending improvements and innovations to enhance the application and its architecture.
