Roles and Responsibilities
As a Product Modeler, you will play a critical role in shaping and managing product and service models within the OSS/BSS domain. Your responsibilities will include:
Product/Service Modeling & Domain Expertise
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Product/Service Modeling, Applications & Solution Architecture, Configuration, and Integration. Lead the functional analysis of projects and enhancements. Develop logical product/service models using tools like MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, Draw.io, or Plant UML with multiple design options.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Engage with cross-functional teams (Enterprise/Technical Architects, consuming systems like BSS/OSS) to align, refine, and adapt product models. Ensure that the business requirements and processes are well-understood, translating these into robust product modeling designs.
Solution Design & Documentation
Provide creative and simple solutions to complex problems, ensuring that designs are clear and structured. Document solutions effectively for users, development teams, and testers. Provide support for the operations team during major incidents.
Project Management & Estimations
Make project estimates and assess the impact of product/service designs on IT processes. Guide the development team through the implementation phase, ensuring the design aligns with the development cycle.
Client Interaction & Communication
Maintain strong communication and client-interfacing skills, working with both business and IT stakeholders to ensure that models meet the required business outcomes.
Mandatory Skills
Experience with tools like Draw.io, Plant UML, MS Visio, and MS PowerPoint for creating Class Diagrams. Experience working on COTS packages – EPC and/or CPQ. Ability to create supporting documentation and detailed design specifications. Strong understanding of the BSS/OSS landscape, especially CRM to COM applications. Familiarity with TMF Open API Interface Specifications and associated concepts. Knowledge of the TM Forum Information Framework, SID Model, and principles related to Product, Service, and Resource Modeling.
Desired Skills
TM Forum certification in Information Framework (Foundation Level/Level 1). Familiarity with eTOM Business Process Framework and business processes in the Product domain. Experience with Agile, Scrum, and JIRA methodologies. Familiarity with EPC/CPQ COTS packages like Netcracker, Vlocity, or Hansen.
