Hiring for SQL Server Database Automation Engineer in India

Summary: This role centers around automating key database management functions, including creating and deleting databases, managing user accounts, adjusting storage, and restarting databases hosted on Google Cloud. This automation will be integrated into a user-friendly service catalog to streamline database operations.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement automated solutions for routine SQL Server database administration tasks, including database creation/deletion, user account management, storage modifications, and database restarts. Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Ansible or other scripting/automation tools to automate database tasks. Integrate automated tasks into a self-service catalog, allowing users to provision and manage databases independently. Collaborate with other teams to understand their database needs and tailor automation solutions accordingly. Thoroughly document automation processes and service catalog offerings for maintainability and troubleshooting. Continuously improve existing automation solutions and explore new opportunities for automation within the SQL Server environment.

Qualifications

Proven experience in SQL Server database administration. Strong scripting skills with PowerShell, Ansible, or other relevant automation tools. Experience in any Cloud like Google Cloud (preferred), Azure/AWS Experience in developing and managing service catalogs for IT operations. Deep understanding of database management best practices and principles.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
