Led the networking foundation for a production-grade Active-Passive Disaster Recovery architecture on Microsoft Azure, including resource group, virtual network, and subnet design (VM subnet and dedicated gateway subnet). Deployed and configured a Virtual Network Gateway (VpnGw1AZ) and Local Network Gateway to establish a secure Site-to-Site VPN connection between on-premises infrastructure and Azure, enabling validated failover connectivity. Provisioned and configured the production virtual machine (Ubuntu, Standard_D8s_v5) including OS and data disk storage, persistent disk mounting via fstab, and time zone/NTP synchronization. Designed and implemented an Enhanced Azure Backup policy with twice-daily backups and defined daily/weekly retention, and enabled backup protection on the production VM through a Recovery Services Vault. Configured resource monitoring and alerting for CPU, RAM, OS disk, data disk, and network bandwidth utilization (80% thresholds) and backup health, with email notifications via Azure Monitor action groups.
